Laguna Beach’s annual Sawdust Art Festival season is approaching, and the Church Social Committee plans to organize a group tour. This not-for-profit event (www.sawdustartfestival.org), named “the Best Festival” in 2007, aims both to entertain and educate, and annually draws more than 200,000 visitors. Performances of the world-famous Oberammergau Passion Play (May-October 2010) in the scenic Bavarian Alps of Germany have always been popular, and the 2010 season is already starting to sell out! This 5-hour enactment of the Easter story by a 2,000-member cast has been performed in thankfulness to God once every 10 years since 1634, when this town was spared from the Black Death.
